RICK WALTON

Rick is practice principal of Taigum Physiotherapy & Massage Clinic. He has 23 years experience in musculoskeletal and sports injury management. Rick graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy in 1993. Rick has very much a ‘hands on’ style of physiotherapy. He places priority on identifying the cause of your pain or dysfunction so as to ensure the root of your problem can be addressed leading to more lasting results. He has always had a strong interest in sporting injuries and continues to provide physiotherapy to local premier rugby league clubs including Aspley and Gater’s along with senior Brisbane representative sides. Rick has a special interest in shoulder injuries. He also has extensive experience with post surgical rehabilitation, spinal pain and work place injuries. Rick has a passion for rugby league and as a former First Grade level player he continues to enjoy a healthy active lifestyle with his two young boys.

CHARLOTTE GARTON

Charlotte graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy in 2010. She has been working at Taigum Physiotherapy since then and has developed a strong patient following with her approachable style along with outstanding clinical skills. Her special interests are in ankle and knee injuries. Charlotte is trained in dry needling and has done various further education courses in spinal and lower limb treatment. Charlotte has a keen interest in in volleyball, competing at national and international levels. Currently working in coordination with other high performance physios at the QAS volleyball program, Charlotte works with elite athletes who are aspiring to compete at the next Olympic Games.

JOSHUA BURGE

Josh brings a fresh enthusiastic approach, utilising the very latest evidence Josh k-tape Strappingbased
techniques to ensure patients a rapid return to pain free function.
Josh graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Physiotherapy from the Australian
Catholic University (ACU) in 2015.  Josh has a special interest in sports physiotherapy as
well as musculoskeletal and sports injury management. He prides himself on his
“hands on” emphasis with massage and manual therapy. Throughout his university
experience he has worked and gathered knowledge in a variety of clinical settings -
both public and private as well as Paediatrics. In his spare time Josh is a passionate
soccer player who has played at a variety of levels. He also enjoys a variety of sports such
as baseball, AFL, and tennis to name a few. Josh has spent the last 3 years as a sports
trainer whilst studying at university, he has travelled away with the UQ University games
team and has won the QLD Youth Cup in Soccer.

 

CORBIN DICKFOS

20160521_111443Corbin graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Physiotherapy from the
Australian Catholic University (ACU) in 2015. With a love for exercise and
passion for AFL, Corbin has always had a strong interest in sporting injuries.
Corbin has had a wide range of experience in various clinic settings throughout
his university time including a placement at a special school. Corbin has a
particular interest in the lower limb injuries (especially the hip, knee, & ankle)
having seen and rehabilitated a lot of common injuries to these areas during his
University time. He also has an interest in paediatric physiotherapy having
coached children’s Rugby & Soccer. Corbin always knew he would be a
Physiotherapist as he has always had a passion and drive to help people. In his
free time, Corbin enjoys playing AFL, golf, badminton, tennis, and cricket. He
also enjoys playing the guitar and going to the beach

 


Kurt

KURT GILLESPIE

Kurt is one of the newest members of our team here at Taigum Physiotherapy
& Massage Clinic. He graduated from the University of Queensland with a master
of Physiotherapy studies in 2016 after completing his Bachelor of Exercise and
Movement Sciences at The Queensland University of Technology. With a love for
exercise and a passion for resistance training, Kurt has always had a strong interest
in sporting injuries. Kurt has had an extensive range of experience in various clinic
settings throughout his university time including a placement at a neurological
rehabilitation centre where he enjoyed his time working with stroke and other neurological
clients. He also has a special interest in the lower limb injuries (especially the hip, knee,
& ankle) and neurorehabilitation. In his spare time Kurt loves to play a range of different
social sports including tennis, squash, cricket and netball as well as regularly training at the gym.

 


SEBASTIAN MACLEOD

Sebastian graduated from the University of Queensland with a master of Physiotherapy studies in 2016 after completing his Bachelor of Science (majoring in Biomedical Science and Anatomy) at the University of Queensland. Sebastian also has a Diploma of Remedial Massage and 9 years experience working as a Remedial Massage therapist. Sebastian is a friendly Physiotherapist who utilizes his advanced knowledge of the human body in health and injury to help his patients recover. Sebastian has a particular interest in headaches, neck and shoulder injuries. This interest stemmed from working in the field of posture correction and helping many patients survive those long hours at a desk! Sebastian participated in a diverse sporting career that has included surfing, hockey, soccer, rock climbing and yoga. He has a wonderful demeanor that allows his clients to enjoy their treatment while recuperating at the same time.

VICKI HOPE (ONG)

Vicki graduated with a Diploma of Remedial Massage in 2009. She comes from a background of snowboarding, having lived and worked in Canada previously as a snowboard instructor. Vicki is interested in neck and shoulder conditions as well as hip and lumbar conditions. She is also enjoys working with athletes pre- and post- event. Vicki hopes to one day attend the New York marathon as a spectator. In her free time, Vicki still watches a lot of snowboarding videos and snowboards overseas annually.

JOSH BATCHELOR

josh 3Josh graduated as a Remedial Massage Therapist from Q Academy in 2014.
Josh brings a Kiwi touch to the clinic with his New Zealand heritage and friendly
demeanor. Josh has a special interest in not only Remedial Massage, but also in
Relaxation Massage, Friction Therapy, Deep Tissue Massage, and Trigger Point
Therapy. Josh has been mentored under Terry Downs (Olympic Massage Therapist)
and brings a wide range of Massage Skills to our Clinic. In his free time, Josh enjoys
going to the gym, playing lawn bowls, and watching Baseball with his favourite
team being the Boston Red Socks.
